One of the world's oldest bank notes is being displayed in London to mark the 325th birthday of the Bank of England.

A banknote for £40, issued to Elizabeth Head in 1702, was included in the exhibition called "325 years, 325 objects" at the Bank of England Museum.

The exhibition opened on Monday and highlights key developments in the Bank's role, but the main focus is on places and the people rather than the technical work of the Bank.

Along with some of the earliest notes, objects at the exhibition include Roman relics, 19th century forgeries, and more. Many items are being put out on display for the first time.

The exhibition will last until May 15 of next year.
