Iran's IRGC warns off British warship while seizing Britain's oil tanker
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Monday released a footage showing its naval forces' warn a British warship to stay out during the recent operation to seize the British oil tanker Stena Impero in the Strait of Hormuz.
"In the brief audio clip, British warship HMS Montrose (F-236) is heard declaring its position in the vicinity of international waters as it escorted the oil tanker Stena Impero," according to the report.
"This is the IRGC Navy patrol boat. Don't put your life in danger. The tanker ... is under my control ... You are ordered to not interfere in my operation," the Iranian operator is heard warning the British warship as it tries to prevent the tanker's seizure.
According to the press TV, the IRGC clip also features aerial footage from the standoff recorded by an Iranian surveillance drone flying over the area.
Earlier this month, Britain's naval force seized Iranian oil tanker, Grace 1, in the Strait of Gibraltar on the allegations that "it was breaching EU sanctions on Syria," which was denied by Iran.
Two weeks later, Iran seized the British oil tanker, Stena Impero, at the Strait of Hormuz for "violating maritime regulations."
