9 injured in 2 separate shootings in Chicago

Nine people have been injured in two separate shootings in U.S. city of Chicago, local media Chicago Sun-Times reported on Sunday.

In the first incident, 7 people were shot while standing in Douglas Park in West Chicago.

Around 1:20 a.m. local time Sunday, the victims were standing in the park when someone fired shots from a black Camaro car, according to Chicago police.

Those injured included three women and four men. A 21-year-old man was in critical condition, police said.

Two women were injured in a separate shooting a few blocks away hours later, Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said.

Police are currently investigating the cases.
