Man jailed for attacking colleague named Batman Suparman
A food delivery man in Singapore has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in jail and six cane strokes for attacking a colleague named Batman Suparman.
South China Morning Post reported that Batman challenged Eng Guan Hong to settle a dispute they had earlier this year, after they disagreed on the use of the word 'bodoh,' which means 'stupid' in Malay.
Eng used a penknife to slash Batman's face.
Lawyer T M Sinnadurai, for Eng, said his client launched the attack because Batman was being "annoying", according to South China Morning Post.
Batman first gained internet fame for his double-barreled superhero name when his ID card was posted online in 2008. He made headlines again when he received a 33-month prison sentence in 2013 for stealing money, the BBC reported.
