Following the death of its founder in 1931, The Great World fell into the hands of another magnate Huang Jinrong, who expanded the site and led it to become the "No. 1 Entertainment Venue in the Far East". Photo taken in 1935 shows the historic feature of The Great World in the 1930s, the era when the venue served as a bridge to Hollywood films and a stage for young singers, dancers and opera actors seeking fame. The trademark 12 funhouse mirrors were also installed during Huang Jinrong's time. [Photo: Wechat]
