Mount Kailash: holy pilgrimage site for people
1/7
Mount Kailash is a holy pilgrimage site for people of the Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bon faiths. Pilgrims and tourists perform a seriously challenging kora – a walk circling a sacred site – around the base of Mount Kailash. But this is no walk in the park! The Kailash kora is a 52 km trek that starts at 4,600 m and includes trekking through a pass at 5,600 m. Mount Kailash is located in the remote region of Ngari, which is located in the western reaches of the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. [Photo: China Plus/Liu Mohan]
