Over the past decade, local honey hunters, mostly the Dai, Lisu and Wa people who are accustomed to eat and drink natural honey for "health and longevity," have been following an ancient but ecological harvesting tradition: disturbing the same bee nest no more than once a year, and not taking all its honey.
