39kg fish auctioned at nearly $129,000 in east China

A fisherman shows the 39-kilogram fish he caught during the fish-catching festival at the Bailihe fishery in east China's Anhui Province, January 6, 2019. The giant fish fetched 880,000 yuan, or 128,467 US dollars at the auction during the festival. The Balihe fishery covers an area of nearly 2,500 hectares, and provides large amount of aquatic products to the domestic market. During this year's fish-catching festival, the fishery presents 15,000 kilograms of fish for locals and tourists to purchase. And the proceeds from the auction will be used to help the poverty alleviation of the local counties. [Photo: VCG]
