69-year-old amputee practices rock climbing

A man named Xia Boyu, a 69-year-old amputee, practices rock climbing in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province on Monday, January 14, 2019. He is a member of the China mountaineering association, and also the first person with a disability in China to successfully reach the top of Mount Everest. In 1975 Xia lost his legs while climbing Mount Everest. Xia has overcome many challenges, as he is also a cancer survivor. He overcame all of the obstacles and found a suitable prosthesis to continue his mountaineering dreams. In 2018, Xia climbed Mt. Everest for the fifth time, finally succeeding with his prosthetic legs.[Photo:VCG]
