Giant Spring Festival couplets on display on Nanjing's city wall

A dozen pairs of giant Spring Festival couplets, seen here on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, have been hung on Nanjing's city wall to welcome the forthcoming Chinese Lunar New Year. City authorities launched a campaign last month asking for people to send in their suggestions for the couplets. They received nearly ten thousand entries, out of which 12 pairs were selected and written by famous calligraphers. [Photo:VCG]
