Firefighters stair climb race in Chengdu

​Climbing up 53 floors of stairs is hard, but these firefighters did so racing. On August 16, 2019, more than 300 firefighters from home and aboard competed in a "vertical marathon" race, regardless of the hot humid weather in Chengdu, as a part of this year's World Police and Fire Games. Firefighters race up to the top of Chengdu Yintai Center which is 220 meters tall with 53 floors. In a separate weight-carrying race on the same day, firefighters have to wear over 20kg of firefighting gear while complete the climb. [Photo: VCG]
