Ningbo zoo solicits names for hippo cub

A hippo cub meets the public for the first time, at the Ningbo Youngor Zoo in east China’s Zhejiang province, on September 19, 2019. Born on July 23, it already weighs about 75 kilograms. However, its sexuality is not yet known. All the other animals born at the zoo this year have the Chinese character “xin” in their names. And “xin” means happy in Chinese. So, the zoo plans to follow suit when naming the baby hippo. But for cub’s full name, the zoo is soliciting suggestions from the public. [Photo: IC]
