Japan's new prototype bullet train hits 362 km/h during test run

A prototype N700S Shinkansen bullet train reaches a top speed of 362 kilometers per hour during a test run between the cities of Maibara and Kyoto in western Japan. The train will be put into service on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line that links Tokyo with Osaka in July 2020, just before the start of the Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics. When it goes into service it will travel at a top speed of 285 kilometers per hour. [Photo: IC]
