China Central Television (CCTV), China's state broadcaster, has expressed congratulations on the opening of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).
In its commentary on Sunday, CCTV said the event is China's first import-themed national level expo since it began the reform and opening up policy 40 years ago.
President Xi Jinping once described the expo as a major policy initiative and commitment taken of China's own accord to opening up its market.
Such remarks demonstrated that China will only expand its opening up to the outside world.
The commentary also said the expo conveyed a message that China will firmly promote free trade and opening up, and that China's development brings opportunities to the world.
It also hoped that all countries will grasp the opportunities brought by the expo so as to further promote the economic globalization and build a peaceful, secure, open and inclusive world where all countries can enjoy common prosperity.
The first CIIE will begin in Shanghai on November 5, with over 150 countries and regions participating.
More than 3000 enterprises from around the world have signed up for the event.
