Deals for intended one-year purchases of goods and services worth a total of 57.83 billion U.S. dollars were reached at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), which concluded Saturday in Shanghai, official data showed.
The Hongqiao International Business Media and Think Tank Forum was held Monday at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
China's measures to further open up and strengthen trade cooperation will help ease the current global economic tensions, said former French prime minister Dominique de Villepin on Monday on the sidelines of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).
"It is our sincere commitment to open the Chinese market to all countries," President Xi Jinping said in a keynote speech at the opening of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).
More than 100 technologies and products from around the globe have been unveiled for the first time at this year's expo, corroborating that the world’s producers value China’s efforts to improve intellectual property protection.
Xi put forward three proposals for promoting open cooperation among countries as well as five measures to step up China’s opening-up when addressing at the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo.
