Why is following traffic rules important?

A horrific scene was captured in Guigang, Guangxi, China, when a car trying to merge in front of a truck. The car was caught and pushed by the truck for over 200 meters until the truck driver passed an intersection and was finally alerted by others to stop. The car was seriously damaged but luckily, the 4 people in the red car were left unharmed.
