Chinese mariachi singer in Mexico

Jazmin Tang is believed to be Mexico's only mariachi singer of Chinese origin. After arriving in Mexico and speaking barely a word of Spanish, she now performs traditional mariachi music in both Spanish and her native Mandarin. Mariachi music is a central part of Mexican culture, combining guitars, love ballads and colorful outfits for the performers.
