Shanghai Tower
Shanghai is one of the most famous financial centers in the world and one of the largest by both population and area. According to a report by the leading global urban research institute, GaWC, Shanghai is regarded as one of the world's first-tier cities.
The Shanghai Tower stands in the heart of the financial and trade center. It is 632 meters high in total, making it the second highest skyscraper in the world. The observation elevator travels at an amazing 18 meters per second. It is the fastest elevator in the world and only takes 55 seconds to get from the basement up to the sightseeing deck on the 119th floor.
The spiral architecture of the building is designed to slow down the air velocity.
The cavity in the building reduces energy consumption, not only protecting the environment, but also making the project more profitable.
The observation deck on the 118th floor was opened to the public on 26th April 2017.
