American devotes himself to translating Chinese classic text

Dai Ling is an American from Boston who lives in a little house in a remote part of Qingdao City. Dai became obsessed with Chinese culture after a teacher gave him a copy of "The Dao-te Ching", which is said to have been written by the philosopher Laozi. He has been living in China for 15 years, devoting himself to translating this classic text.[Photo: IC]
