World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7, marking the anniversary of the founding of The World Health Organization. The theme of World Health Day campaign this year is depression.

WHO defines depression as a mental disorder, and symptoms include "sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, feelings of tiredness, and poor concentration." In severe cases, these symptoms may lead to suicide.

Globally, more than 320 million people suffer from depression. In China, the number stands at more than 50 million right now. It can affect people of all ages and from all walks of life.
