Recent the top Men's health advisers offered their advise for staying calm and focused on a busy day. These tips are designed to help people thrive under pressure and not feel overly stressed at work.
So, we are going to go over their tips and offer our two cents on work-related stress.
1. Put your health first
Thie means covering a few bases – eating a healthy diet (one expert suggested eating a plant based diet), no excessive smoking or drinking, and getting enough sleep.
Dr. Katz from mens health said there is a snowballing effect – so sleep gives you the energy to exercise, exercise helps relive stress and further sharpen you mind. This leads to working better under pressure at the office.
2. Don't waste energy on things that are out of your control
If you know there is something you can't change then stop focusing on that and start thinking about what you can change. Take a few deep breaths, regroup and focus on what you need to do next.
3. Over prepare
Dr. Wolf is a dentist working in NYC in the U.S. He spends a lot of his free time reading medical journals and trying to be prepared for every possible scenario that might he have to face. Occasionally, he will get a situation where he doesn't know what to do and he simple is prepared to say he doesn't know, but he is willing to find a solution.
4. Acknowledge your stress then move on
Pinpoint what is causing you stress (deadlines? Multiple tasks e.c.t) and how it exactly makes you feel (anxious, annoyed, depressed). Talk yourself through the problem and then it will start feeling a lot more manageable.
5. Never skip your workout
