Fengtai Experimental School Affiliated Beijing Institute of Education recently placed restrictions on the use of PowerPoint in Grade 1 and Grade 2 classes. The Chinese public is questioning this rule and whether or not multimedia tools are able to improve the quality of teaching.

The school says the initiative looks to protect young children's eye sight and encourages teachers to focus on how well individual students absorb the teaching content, instead of leaning too heavily on multimedia tools.

Some people argue that multimedia can provide vivid images and videos for students and can help improve the understanding of abstract concepts.

Listen to the show and find out if you support traditional educational method or the use of multimedia tools?

The audio clip is from Roundtable, produced by CRI.
