Yajie: It’s a sports week on Chinese Studio.  Welcome to the show everyone, wo shi Yajie.
Chris: And wo shi Chris.  Yajie, today we are going to focus more on playing sports.

Chris: 棒球场(bang4qiu2 chang3)
Yajie: 棒球, as we learned yesterday, is baseball.
Chris: 棒球. 
Yajie: 场 (chang3), the third tone. It means field. 
Chris: 场 (chang3)
Yajie: 棒球场(bang4qiu2 chang3), baseball diamond.
Chris: 棒球场(bang4qiu2 chang3), baseball diamond.
Yajie: next comes篮球场(lan2qiu2 chang3) basketball court. 
Chris: 篮球场(lan2qiu2 chang3). As basketball is 篮球(lan2qiu2 ), right?  
Yajie: exactly. 篮球(lan2qiu2). And court here also is 场(chang3)in Chinese. So it’s 篮球场(lan2qiu2 chang3)

Yajie: Now… Chris, I guess you now might know the Chinese for soccer pitch…
Chris: Well… Let me see… I know soccer in Chinese is 足球 (zu2qiu2)
Yajie: Right. 足球 (zu2qiu2).
Chris: So I think soccer pitch would be 足球场 (zu2qiu2 chang3). correct? 
Yajie: Very good, Chris. 足球场 (zu2qiu2 chang3), soccer pitch. Now let’s have a quick review with our listeners. Baseball diamond is 棒球场(bang4qiu2 chang3).
