台湾现大片死鱼 Large numbers of dead fish have appeared in Taipei

Large(大量的) numbers(数量) of dead(死的) fish(鱼) have appeared(出现) in Taipei`s Keelung river in recent(最近) days. According to the Taipei Department of Environmental Protection, a heatwave(热浪) reduced(减少) the level(浓度) of oxygen(氧气) in the water, causing(造成) massive(大规模的) amounts(数量) of the fish to die.

Until August 29th, Taipei suffered 16 consecutive(连续的) days of hot weather with temperatures(温度) reaching(到达) 36° Celsius for the first time in 120 years.
