网红图书馆 A newly opened library in Tianjin

People visit the Tianjin Binhai(滨海) Library(图书馆) which displays a large collection(收藏) of books(书) on terraced shelves(架子). The 34,200-square-meter building is built around a mirrored spherical auditorium which, coupled with the main atrium, forms a giant eye(眼睛) that looks out at passersby(行人).

The library has been designed(设计) by MVRDV based in the Netherlands in collaboration(合作) with the Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute. It opened(开放) to the public this October as part of a larger plan to provide an arts district for the city.
