第二架中国产大型客机首飞成功 Second C919 plane completes first trial flight

A second prototype(样机) of China's home-built C919 passenger jet has complete(完成) its first test flight, another step forward in the country's ambitions(志向) to enter(进入) the global jet market.

The C919 plane landed at Pudong International Airport(浦东国际机场) at noon in Shanghai in a flight of two hours.

During the flight, the aircraft examined(检查) the performance of taking off(起飞), landing(降落) and the working status(工作情况) of various main systems and equipment. It also inspected the performance of the landing gear and the navigation(导航) and communication(通信) systems(系统).

A total of six prototypes will eventually conduct(进行) test flights, with engine(引擎) tests to be a particular focus.

The first C919 completed its trial flight in May this year, and made its first intercity flight, from Shanghai to Xi'an, in mid-November.

So far(到目前为止), 785 orders(订单) from 27 customers(客户) throughout China and abroad(国内外) have been placed for the C919.
