China's panda watching on German Unity Day

Giant Panda watching has become a new way for the citizens of the German capital, Berlin, to celebrate their national day, also known as Unity Day, celebrated on October 3rd. The city's zoo, took possession of two Pandas back in June this year, called Mengmeng and Jiaoqing. They came to Germany from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan province. Traditionally, Germans have celebrated their national day by heading into the country or to the seaside, but this year the Giant Pandas have offered an alternative with crowds flocking to the zoo to catch sight of the cute animals.[Photo: China Plus]
