Shanxi's spectacular two-tone lake

Divided by a road, one side of this salt lake in Shanxi Province is rose red, and the other side is green! The red color is caused by a kind of algae called Dunaliella Salina, which is more tolerant to salt, allowing an iron-rich algae to grow, causing the reddish hue. [Photo: IC]
