Sandstorm sweeps through Gansu

A massive sandstorm has created sci-fi-like images after sweeping through the city of Zhangye in Gansu Province on Sunday, November 25. Located at the center of the Hexi Cooridor, Zhangye is known as a gateway to the Tarim Basin. Tarim encompasses the lower half of the Xinjiang Region and the Basin is covered by the Taklamakan Desert.
