New figures show Maine's lobster exports saw a decrease in July, down 64% from June, according to WISERTrade. China imposed a 25% tariff on a number of U.S. exports, including lobsters, in July. At the same time, the European Union is starting to diversify its imports. The EU has inked a trade deal with Canada, eliminating an 8% tariff on Canadian lobsters. Maine accounts for around 80% of all U.S. lobster exports. [Photo: China Plus/Liu Kun]
