Manatee refuses to give up plastic chew toy

A manatee calf refused to give up a potentially deadly piece of plastic waste it found chewing on near St. Petersburg, Florida, November 10, 2018. The scene was captured by Michael McCarthy, a 50-year-old canoeist. The good samaritan attempted to wrestle the plastic away from the animal, but struggled, as the calf refused to let go of its potentially deadly chew toy, with the two deadlocked for around 20 minutes.
