The Carolina Wildlife Center was inundated with donations after they posted online: "EMERGENCY… We have run out of ACORNS!"
The center took in over 900 squirrels in 2018 and they have wiped out the nut stash.
Soon, the center received batches of nuts donated by the public and now it said the acorns will get the squirrels through spring and they even have a swimming pool full of the nuts.
The Carolina Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization that rehabilitates injured and orphaned wildlife to reintroduce them back into nature.
