An alligator got a silicone 3D-printed prosthetic tail from scientists at Midwestern University in Scottsdale, Arizona. They used an Artec3D scanner to create a high-resolution, digital model of the tail, and manipulated the model to produce a tail that has the right length and size for Mr. Stubbs. He was rescued a decade ago when authorities pulled over a truck and trailer and found 32 of the animals. It's not known how Mr. Stubbs lost his tail. [Photos: IC]
