Mount Emei hosts winter warrior competition

A winter warrior competition was held on December 23, 2017 on Mount Emei in southwest China's Sichuan Province. One hundred competitors gathered at the Golden Summit of Mount Emei to challenge their resistance to low temperatures.

Competitors braved temperatures of minus five degrees Celsius, holding the gesture of the Xumi Palm, a classical pose in Chinese Kung Fu.

Lei Wenbin won the top prize, holding the pose for 13 minutes and 59 seconds, the longest duration in this year's competition.

Mount Emei has held the annual winter warrior competition since 2015.
