A charity in Shanghai offers teenagers from rural area opportunities to study in vocational schools. After graduation, the students can be secured a position in companies, which have cooperative partnership with the charity. It is more likely for the students to become skilled trade labors.
According to Chen Baosheng, Minister of Education, he emphasized the significance of the program to improve the quality of current trade skills education and to increase the enrollment rate by increasing the attractiveness of the majors and providing more job opportunities.
According to a report by People's Daily, there are nearly 16 million students from 10,900 vocational schools in China, accounting for around 40% of the entire middle school students. Vocational schools offer about 70% of potential labor force for industries, such as manufacturing, high-speed railways, and e-commerce logistics.
