Located about 450 kilometers east of Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet autonomous region, Nyingchi prefecture has the reputation as the “Switzerland of the East”. It has an extremely mild climate compared to other parts of Tibet due to its low altitude, virgin forests, many lakes scattered in this area. Its average altitude is about 2,000 meters. The landscape is so peculiar that four seasons can be experienced in one mountain.
