How to prepare for Beijing's winter?

Global Times website carries an article about Beijing's winter. It's an interesting piece about a foreigner's experience of Beijing's winter.

The writer Leila Hashemi described her own experience of last fall and winter in Beijing as "Shivering, chattering and chilled to the bone". She comes from the eastern coast of the US in North Carolina and last year was her first winter in the city.

She said she had a medium-heavy jacket from home that worked for a while, but then she had to get her first real winter-ready coat!
