China bike rental: a blessing or nuisance?

Bike-sharing services are springing up across many major Chinese cities.

The potentially profitable sector has drawn a variety of service providers though, at present, profits are evading them. 

Meanwhile, the largely unregulated services have created nuisances to some urban residents and led to calls for better regulation.
