Beijing bungee jump mishap narrowly avoids tradegy

A woman from Tianjin has escaped serious injury after plunging several meters into a river after accidentally getting detached during a bungee jump at a Beijing scenic area.

The incident happened at the Shidu Natural Park recently in the Fangshan District in Beijing.

As seen in a popular online video, the victim separated from the cord on the third bounce and fell into a river over which bungee jumps are made.

After the incident, local safety inspectors have decided to temporarily shut down the Shidu bungee jump facility as they investigates all facilities at the park.
