The 90th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on March 4, to honor the best films of 2017. The Shape of Water was the big winner,  taking Best Picture and Best Director. 

The quality of films and diversity of themes featured at the Oscar night have been hailed by a lot of industry insiders. Are these films going to have any influence over Chinese film makers and screenwriters? 

Studio Plus speaks to Ms. Geng Ling, CEO of China Film Assist.

4. Oscar night was focused on diversity and equality in the film industry particularly for more women to be working behind the camera on film crews and as directors. Do you see this as an issue with China filmmaking? 

5. Will the diversity of themes of this year’s Oscar have an influence on China’s filmmakers and screenwriters? 

6. What films are expected to come out this year by Chinese filmmakers?
