Over the past couple of years, Chinese tourists are increasingly seeing New Zealand as an ideal holiday destination. In fact, China is New Zealand’s second largest tourism market with around 340,000 holiday visitors each year, contributing almost $1.3B to New Zealand’s economy.

So what makes this quiet country in the Southern Hemisphere so appealing to the Chinese? 

To answer that, Studio Plus talked to Mark Frood, International Tourism and Market Development Manager at the Auckland International Airport Ltd., who had also previously served as General Manager Asia for Tourism New Zealand, and CRI reporter Lu Chang, who’s just back from a recent tour to New Zealand.
