Do you like traveling by plane? 你喜欢乘飞机旅游吗?(ni3 xi3huan zuo4 fei1ji1 lǚyou2 ma?) How do you prefer to go? 你想怎么走?(ni3 xiang3 zen3me zou3?) Where is the bus statio? 公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?) Can you tell me where to get off? 您能告诉我在哪儿下车吗?(nin2 neng2 gao4su wo3 zai4 na3er xia4 che1 ma?) All in today’s Chinese Studio.

YJ: Before getting to the sentences, we are going to give you a test. How do you say train in Chinese? 
Cam: I think it’s 火车 (huo3che1). 
YJ: Right. And what’s plane?
Cam: 飞机(fei1ji1), all in the first tone, right? 
YJ: That’s right.  What about bus? 
Cam: Bus will be 公交车(gong1jiao1che)?
YJ: Excellent!

Conversation 1:

YJ: Cam, what’s the Chinese for “do you like traveling by plane”?
Cam: Well, I  believe it’s “你喜欢乘飞机旅行吗?(ni3 xi3huan cheng2 fei1ji1 lǚ3xing2 ma?)”
YJ: Great! 你喜欢乘飞机旅行吗?(ni3 xi3huan cheng2 fei1ji1 lǚ3xing2 ma?)” 你 (ni3) is you. 
Cam: 你 (ni3).
YJ: 喜欢 (xi3huan), like to.  
Cam: 喜欢 (xi3huan)
YJ: 乘 (cheng2)means ride. Here it means to take a plane.  
Cam: Okay. 乘(cheng2).
YJ: and we learned plane just now, it’s 飞机(fei1ji1). 
Cam: Right,飞机(fei1ji1)
YJ: 旅行(lǚ3xing2) means traveling. 
Cam: 旅行(lǚ3xing2).
YJ: 吗 (ma), question mark. 
Cam: 吗 (ma)
YJ: 你喜欢乘飞机旅行吗?(ni3 xi3huan cheng2 fei1ji1 lǚ3xing2 ma?)”
Cam: 你喜欢乘飞机旅行吗?(ni3 xi3huan cheng2 fei1ji1 lǚ3xing2 ma?)”

Conversation 2:

Cam: All right,  I prefer taking the bus when traveling around Beijing, because it’s not too far from where I live to CRI. But I’m not so familiar with the bus station. Can I say like this: “公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?) 
YJ: Of course you can. “公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?)” Where is the bus stop? 
Cam: 公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?)
YJ: Bus in Chinese is 公交车(gong1jiao1che1) 
Cam: Yes. 公交车(gong1jiao1che1), bus. 
YJ: And 站 (zhan4) is stop or station. 
Cam: 公交车站(gong1jiao1che1zhan4) is bus station or bus stop. 
YJ: 在哪儿 (zai4 na3 ), at where.  
Cam: 在哪儿 (zai4 na3 ). 
YJ: Together it’s公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?)
Cam: 公交车站在哪儿?(gong1jiao1che1zhan4 zai4 na3er?), Where is the bus station?

Conversation 3:

Cam: Sometimes I need to ask some Chinese friends to remind me where to get off the bus. So how do you say that in Chinese?
YJ: You can say 您能告诉我在哪儿下车吗?(nin2 neng2 gao4su wo3 zai4 na3er xia4 che1 ma?)
Cam: 您能告诉我在哪儿下车吗?(nin2 neng2 gao4su wo3 zai4 na3er xia4 che1 ma?) Can you tell me where to get off?
YJ: 能 (neng2) means could.

YJ: 告诉我 (gao4su wo3), to tell me. 
Cam: 告诉我 (gao4su wo3)
YJ: 在哪儿 (zai4 na3er), where.
Cam: 在哪儿 (zai4 na3er)
YJ: 下车 (xia4 che1), to get off
