《摔跤吧!爸爸》征服中国观众 Indian film 'Dangal' becomes a talking point in China

The Indian film(电影) 'Dangal' has made more than 100 million yuan (US $14.5 million) in just 4 days since being released(上映) in China.

The film starring(领衔主演) Aamir Khan is rated 9.2 out of 10 on the Chinese film-reviewing website Douban(豆瓣). 

Aamir Khan plays(扮演) a father who taught wrestling to his two daughters. One of them became India's first female wrestler to win gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and the other won the silver.

Thousands of weibo users are discussing(讨论) 'Dangal,' especially the acting(表演) of Khan, making him once again a viral topic online.

Khan gained(增加) 28kg for the film to play the 55-year-old father.

He then lost(减少) 25kg and trained a perfect body for playing the father at 19.

The Bollywood superstar said the movie challenges(挑战) gender(性别) discrimination(歧视) in the country.

"It's a true story of a man living in north India, in a very small village, very conservative(保守的) society(社会), and how he does not discriminate between a girl child and a boy child."

Khan is best known in China for his appearance in the 2009 comedy film "Three Idiots." He is the symbol of Indian films for Chinese people.
