180-meter chimneys in Nanjing demolished by implosion

Two 180-meter chimneys in a heat and power plant in Nanjing, capital city of China's Jiangsu Province, were demolished by implosion on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. One cooling tower of 5,500 square meters was also demolished the same way. The chimneys were landmark structures in the Qixia area of Nanjing, and their demolition means the end of the traditional industry era in the region. [Photo: VCG]
