Endangered sea turtles seized by police in Guangxi

A total of 38 samples of endangered hawksbill sea turtles, each valued at between US $296 to $4,447, were seized by Guangxi police recently when they performed a regular check on a logistics vehicle. As confirmed by authorities, the longest turtle is about 60 centimeters long, while the shortest one is still nearly 30 centimeters. Hawksbill sea turtles are a critically endangered species of sea turtle and are protected by Chinese national law. [Photo: IC]
