Beijing's first roof top charging station activated
Beijing's first elevated charging station for new energy vehicles has been put into service on the roof of a 6-storey parking garage in the Central Business District on August 8, 2017. Equipped with 101 public charging piles, the station can charge a car in 30 minutes. This means the parking garage should be able to charge as many as 500 vehicles per day. The price is 1.0941 yuan/kilowatt during peak periods. That rate goes down dramatically to 0.3946 yuan/kilowatt during off-peak periods. A waiting room has also been set up for drivers while they wait to charge their electric vehicles. [Photo: VCG]
