Lhasa's Potala Palace painted ahead of winter

The Potala Palace in Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has been painted with 92 tonnes of pigment. Sugar and milk have been added to the colourant for better cohesive force. The Potala Palace is painted every year before winter to better protect the building. This year, more than 300 volunteers took part in painting the palace. [Photo: Chinanews.com]
