Having spent 17 years with disabled students at the Nanjing School for the Deaf, Yu Xiaolan has never regretted her choice as a teacher here. "I still remember the day when I came to the campus for the job interview," said Yu, "I could see students running on the playground, just like normal kids of other schools, but I couldn't hear even a small sound. I was deeply touched and decided to stay." Yu has ever since dedicated herself to the students with hearing loss. "It's not that easy to get access to the inner world of the students here, but once they accept you, they place great trust in you," said Yu. "I am trying my best to help them grow up. I really hope they will have a bright future." [Photo: Xinhua]
