Duan Zhigang, the manager of a canteen in Hongqi Village, is seen watering lingzhi mushrooms in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, northeast China’s Jilin Province, April 15, 2019. The village, home to some 200 members of China’s Korean ethnic minority group, started to build lingzhi mushroom greenhouses in 2017, with investments from local government and a tourism company. Villagers are now able to enjoy the benefits, as some of them have been employed to work in the greenhouses. While in the meantime, picking lingzhi mushrooms has also become an unmissable experience for tourists when they stop by the village to catch a glimpse of its unique Korean ethnic customs. Covering an area of 1.5 hectares, the five lingzhi mushroom greenhouses are an important source of income in the village. [Photo: China Plus/Huang Yue]
