Papermaker makes effort to retain cultural heritage

Wang Xingwu (2nd R), a papermaker, washes raw materials with other craftsmen in Shiqiao Village of Danzhai County, southwest China's Guizhou Province, April 24, 2019. The 53-year-old is a national intangible cultural heritage inheritor in papermaking. He learned the papermaking technique from his family as a child. Besides exerting the old papermaking technique to its full potential, Wang keeps raising product quality and improving the procedure. With the involvement of plants in the papermaking process, he has created more than 160 kinds of patterned papers and paper crafts.
